The Bachelor of Applied Social Sciences (BASS) is designed to produce graduates who are skilful and capable in understanding various fields in Social Science. The students will be exposed to the multi-disciplinary approach with the combination of three major areas of social sciences: political science, communication and psychology.
The programme could also develop student’s maturity in critically identifying social issues and recommend practical decisions on a nation’s context. This will prepare individuals to be competent and skilful with the knowledge and eventually involved in the society through effective and innovative learning styles in OUM.
Entry Requirements
- Passed: SPM/SPMV/MCE or equivalent with 2 credits; AND
- Passed: STPM/HSC or equivalent with at least 2 principals (CGPA 2.00); OR
- Passed: a recognized MQA Diploma; OR
- Passed: a recognized Matriculation certficate; OR
- Passed: a Polytechnic certificate; OR
- Minimum qualification which approved by OUM Senate and possess at least 5 years of related work experience
OR
For those who DO NOT meet the minimum entry requirements, they can apply through Open Entry by fulfilling the following requirements;
- Be at least 21 years old on 1st of January(application year); AND
- Passed at least PMR/SRP/LCE or equivalent; AND
- Possess prior learning experience OR knowledge relevant to the programme applied.
Programme Structure
Learners are required to complete 120 credit hours to graduate.
