The Bachelor of Public Management (Hons) allows students to address the challenges of governance, public administration and international relations in national and regional contexts. The programme also focuses on the fundamental principles, practices and techniques of organisational management related to public institutions.
The course exposes students to significant theories, and their application in research in multidisciplinary fields such as public administration, political economy, human resources management, international relations and town management. The emphasis is on linking theory to research, experimental and professional analysis of a wide range of issues, analytical and professional activities in the areas of policy analysis, public sector management, urban planning design and urban development.
This programme will also enhance students’ personal confidence and career prospects by widening their portfolio of skills and deepening their insights of current public policy issues.
Students with a recognized Diploma in related field will be given advanced standing into the Degree programme.

On successful completion students will enter a variety of challenging careers, such as public or private sectors of any industry. These positions include economist, current affairs executive, diplomat officer, and administrative officer. Graduates will be able to seek employment in many roles in the public sector such as education, health and policy authorities, local government, charities, environmental agencies and civil service agencies, as well as in private sector management.
