Upon the completion of the project, Film and Animation students are expected to understand the process of producing an animation work that is in sync with a good design sense and the scope of digital animation. Students will also be exposed to the ideas of developing their contents to be more aesthetically valued, varied and original. Throughout the production process, students will develop their technical skill and artistic understanding in storytelling and animation groomed to become a three-dimensional (3D) animation artist.
The project emphasises the significance of content development through the ideation process. Students are encouraged to pursue ideas that are refreshing and original to the current school of thoughts. Local contents in their story lines will instill a sense of national pride especially those who can tell a simple story structure. The fusion of current digital tools and content creators of these animation technologies, together with principle of animation, design and storytelling, will open up new challenges in creative communication.
Although each selected work carries a distinct feature, there is a common denominator shared by most of these works. The attention to detail in the animation, design and environment worth recognised. The subject matter, elements and the overall accents of the animation are refined to attain the intended result. The showcase presented serves to be a platform for our young artists and designers as a stepping stone in the animation industry.
