PROGRAMME STRUCTURE
The Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) Operations Management is a three–year programme designed for students who are interested in the operations function of the manufacturing or service sector. The unique characteristics of this programme are that it emphasizes the managerial aspects of business operations. Among the courses offered are Project Management, Quality Management, Safety Management, Job Design, Production Planning and Control, Operations Management in the Service Sector, Purchasing and Inventory Management and Physical Supply and Distribution.
Admission of students is twice a year. Applications may be made:
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum qualification for STPM candidates:
Passed SPM or its equivalent with credits in Bahasa Melayu/Malaysia, English and Mathematics.
Passed STPM or its equivalent as recognized by the government, with the following results:
SPECIAL QUALIFICATION
Passed Diploma from UiTM or other institutions recognized as its equivalent by the government with a minimum CGPA of 2.30 and 3.00 respectively. Candidates who do not comply would need to have at least two (2) years working experience.
Have taken the MUET. Candidates with working experience particularly in manufacturing operations or related areas are preferred.
COURSE CONTENT
Year 1
Year 2
In the second–year, the student will explicitly focus on business operations. Various courses offered range from operations management, safety management, managerial economics, job design, purchasing and inventory management and many others.
Elective courses offered include introduction to international business, international management and product management; physical supply and distribution or operations management in the service sector, investment or management of change. The Faculty of Business Management also offers a course on Islamic and Asian Civilization to instill moral and ethical values to strengthen students’ spiritual and mental skills.
Year 3
Graduates will have the opportunity to work at the executive and managerial level in operations, logistic, purchasing and planning divisions.
