The programme offers useful tools and strategies for succeeding in the progressively globalised engineering marketplace.
Prominent lecturers impose an uncompromising quality in research and teaching through lectures and practical in the programs. The postgraduate engineering courses are moderated by prominent academics from abroad. The UM Faculty of Engineering’s reputation in training quality engineers and experts is obvious from the demand for its graduates by various industries in Malaysia and abroad.
Entry Requirements
(1) A Bachelor’s Degree with Honours in a related Engineering Field or
equivalent degree; OR
(2) Other qualifications which are passed by Senate from time to time.
Language Requirements
Foreign candidates are required to:
Have at least IELTS Band 6 or TOEFL 550 if their first degree is from a university where English is not the medium of instruction; OR
Pass an English proficiency test approved by the University.
Programme Structure
In order to graduate, candidates are required to complete forty four (44) credits comprising of:
(1) Twenty four (24) credit of core courses including; AND
(2) Twenty (20) credit of elective courses
All core subjects offered are compulsory. For the electives, the candidates can choose from a list of tentative electives given depending on their interest. Candidates can choose any area of interest and the Research Project may be carried out at their workplace/industry. All candidates will have to submit a Research Project that will be assessed by the Examiners.This is a Master by Coursework for a minimum of 3 semesters (1 1/2 years) and the maximum duration is 8 semesters (4 years).
