Programme Description
Research projects in the following areas are available:

- Isolation and characterisation of chemical constituents
- Standardization, quality control, herbal monographs
- Pharmacokinetics and stability studies
- Principal components analysis
- Biological activities (antimalarial,antiobesity, anticancer, kidney stone disease, etc)
- Proteomics of medicinal plants
- Metabolism
- Toxicology
- Medicinal Chemistry
- Synthesis
- SAR
- Proteomic analysis of breast and colon cancers
- Biochemical toxicology and metabolism
- Cell culture, cancer biology and molecular biology
- Drug discovery and molecular modelling
- Cell-based and biochemical assays
- Halal pharmaceutical and standards, including gelatine source analysis
Admission Requirements
Applicants should possess one of the following:
MSc
Malaysian applicants
- A BPharm or BSc (Hons)(Pharmacy) with CGPA of 2.75 or above;
OR
- A BPharm or BSc (Hons) (Pharmacy) with CGPA of 2.5 – 2.74, subject to additional requirements below
- Research experience – 1 year; or,
- Professional experience in related field- 1 year; or,
- Two (2) academic publications (journals, not proceeding(s)) in related field; or,
- Grade B for major/ elective courses; or,
- Grade B+ in final year project
OR
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related area in Science with CGPA of 3.00 or above.
International applicants
- A BPharm or BSc (Hons)(Pharmacy) or a Bachelor’s degree in a related area in Science with CGPA of 3.00 or above.
- Language Requirement
(Applicable to International Applicants Only)
- A minimum score of 550 in TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), or
- A minimum score of 6.0 in IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
- Results must be attached with the application

Part-time: Min 4 semesters / Max 12 semesters
