Liberal Arts School located in world’s largest building ever built in a single phase, Berjaya Times Square. The School of Liberal Arts has lined up a few programmes specially designed to help students of various disciplines to improve their English language skills and proficiency in a specific period of time. Students are taught based on the communicative approach with emphasis given to practical application of the language learnt. Students are given ample opportunities to practise the language in meaningful situations. This in turn develops the students’ critical thinking and problem solving skills.
The School of Liberal Arts offers the following programmes:
1. Intensive English Programme (IVEP)
– is designed to help students to improve their English language proficiency before they pursue their undergraduate programs. With a structured program, it aims to accelerate learning for students to improve their English language skills where they are able to express their thoughts and intentions clearly in oral or written communication.
There are 3 levels for IVEP:
- Pre-Intermediate
- Intermediate
- Advanced
2. Summer/Winter Camps
– is designed for international students who want to learn English while on summer or winter break from their respective universities. The camp is filled with interesting interactive sessions to provide excellent learning environment for the students. The students are also provided with lots of opportunities to mingle with the local students. The purpose is to give the international students a memorable experience within a relaxed and academic framework to develop fluency to use English in situational contexts and to learn more about Malaysia culture.
3. Business English
– is designed for working professionals who want to improve their oral and written communication skills at workplace and in social context. This involves small talk, socialising, business correspondence, report writing and presentations.
There are 3 levels for Business English:
- Pre-Intermediate
- Intermediate
- Advanced
