Program Description
Master’s by Research:
This programme assures students an opportunity of extensive training in research under supervision so that they are capable of working innovatively in their specific majors. Graduates are expected to possess specialised knowledge, practical skills and aptitude to pursue the continuous development in their specific majors.
Admission Requirements
- a Bachelor’s Degree with 2nd Class Honours or CGPA of 2.67 and above, in a related field from MMU or equivalent from another recognized University; or
- a Bachelor’s Degree with Honours or CGPA between 2.00 and 2.67, in a related field from MMU or equivalent from another recognized University and show evidence of at least one (1) year of relevant working or research experience; or
- any other academic qualifications equivalent to (a) or (b), as approved by the Senate.
- An applicant with non-honours degree may be considered, if he has attained a GRE /GMAT score (General test and at least one of the Subject Test) that is acceptable to the respective Faculty.
English level Requirement
An applicant is required to possess a sufficient level of English language proficiency by obtaining one of the following:
- a minimum overall TOEFL score of 551 (paper based) or 237 (computer based) or 92 (internet based) ; or
- a minimum IELTS (academic) overall band score of 6.5; or
- a credit in 1119 English Examination; or
- a minimum score of 551 in Multimedia Universitys English Language Proficiency Test
- a minimum MUET overall band score of 4; or
- any other qualification which is of equivalent level as determined by the Senate of the University.
All applicants must fulfill the English language requirement in order to be admitted to the approved programme.The Faculty may interview the candidates who have obtained their Bachelor’s or Masters degrees from institution, where English is used as the main medium of instruction or as one of the mediums of instruction and recommend to the Senate for waiver.An English Language Proficiency test will be conducted to gauge their proficiency level of the candidates who do not meet the English Language requirement and fail the English interview (if applicable).
Candidates who fail to meet the English Language requirement may enroll into the Intensive English Language Programme (IELP) offered by MMU in the month of February, June or October every year.
Minimum Entry Requirement
- a Bachelor’s Degree with Honours or CGPA of 2.00 and above in Accounting from MMU or equivalent from another recognized University; or
- a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting AND three (3) years relevant working experience; or
- any other qualification equivalent to (a) or (b), as agreed upon by the Senate
