The Master of Engineering (Mechanical) programme is designed to meet the needs of industry by offering young engineers the critical skills needed to be successful in an engineering career.
The programme offers useful tools and strategies for succeeding in the progressively globalised engineering marketplace as well as enabling students to experience a unique combination of technical and supervisory understanding with the relevant skills required to advance as a leader of engineering projects and teams.
Entry Requirements
(1) A Bachelor’s Degree with Honours in a related Engineering Field or
equivalent degree; OR
(2) Other qualifications which are passed by Senate from time to time.
Language Requirements
Foreign candidates are required to:
Have at least IELTS Band 6 or TOEFL 550 if their first degree is from a university where English is not the medium of instruction; OR
Pass an English proficiency test approved by the University.
Programme Structure
In order to graduate, candidates are required to complete forty four (44) credits comprising of:
(1) Twenty four (24) credit of core courses including; AND
(2) Twenty (20) credit of elective courses
All core subjects offered are compulsory. For the electives, the candidates can choose from a list of tentative electives given depending on their interest. Candidates can choose any area of interest and the Research Project may be carried out at their workplace/industry. All candidates will have to submit a Research Project that will be assessed by the Examiners.This is a Master by Coursework for a minimum of 3 semesters (1 1/2 years) and the maximum duration is 8 semesters (4 years).
