HISTORY

Founded in 1881, the University of Liverpool has an impressive history of pioneering education and research, with a particular emphasis on ‘education for the professions’.

The School of Law at the University of Liverpool has a proud tradition of over a century’s experience of inspiring and challenging its students to reach their potential. Eminent scholars have served as staff and former students include judges at all levels, including the now retired Law Lord Donald James Nicholls (Baron Nicholls of Birkenhead) and Lord Birkenhead (Lord Chancellor 1919-1922).
