Introduction
A three month programme that comprises 10 modules of English As A Second Language (ESL) prepares students to be more confident with speaking and writing the English language. There are four levels of the ESL programme:
i.   Basic
ii.  Elementary
iii. Intermediate
iv. Advanced

With 240 hours of coaching, participants would be able to achieve these objectives:

• Speak, read and write confidently
• Write English with minimal or no grammatical errors
• Expand their vocabulary by 1500 words
• Summarise given passages
• Understand more difficult passages and answer questions posed

Course Structure
Total Contact Hours – 240 hours

• No. of learning activities per day – 5 hours
• No. of hours per week (4 x 5 days) – 20 hours
• No. of hours per month (20 x 4 weeks) – 80 hours
• No. of hours for 3 months (12 weeks) – 240 hours

ESL Basic – 3 Months (240 hours)
ESL Elementary – 3 Months (240 hours)
ESL Intermediate – 3 Months (240 hours)
ESL Advanced – 3 Months* (180 hours) * Preparation for IELTS Examination

Course Features

• Up to 20 hours of teaching and learning a week
• Maximum 25 students in each class
• One-to-one guidance for weaker students
• Regular tests for evaluation
• Access to multimedia lab with Internet facilities
• Updated resources in the library
• Study related activities like field trips, educational visits and membership to college societies (where applicable)
• Pastoral care and student counselling (International Students Club)
