This 2½ year course is for students who want to do something different, who enjoy hands-on experience in a particular industry, learning ‘new’ modules like entrepreneurship skills, creativity and innovation, market research, and entrepreneurship strategy. This course introduces students to the concept of entrepreneurship and equips them with a strong foundation. Upon completion of this diploma, you may progress to the second year of the BA (Hons) in Entrepreneurship.
The objective of this course is to introduce the concept of entrepreneurship and provide a sound foundation in business management. At the end of the course, students will be motivated to want to start their own business, to become entrepreneurs. They will be intrigued by the success stories of great entrepreneurs through the Industry Lectures that will be given to them. They will be exposed to new modules like Small and Medium Enterprise Financing, Managing Entrepreneurial Ventures, Entrepreneurial Values and Skills and will find this course a world different from the other business courses. Students will have to complete a project which will give them opportunities to either specialize in a particular industry and create new business ventures or capitalize on opportunities in the franchise industry.
Students will enjoy the learning methodology of brain storming sessions, group discussions, group presentations and market research. Many studied hard, qualified with diplomas or degrees, worked for others and gained experience. Then, after many years, decided to quit their jobs and start their own businesses.
This entrepreneurship diploma course cuts short that long process and sets you immediately in the mode of starting your own business.
Students who have a minimum of 3 credits in the SPM or ‘O’ levels are eligible to apply for this course. Upon completing this Diploma, students are eligible to enter Year 2 of the BA (Hons) in Entrepreneurship.
