The Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) Chemical & Process is a new four year programme, structured in such a way that the courses emphasize on four specialized areas namely environment, polymer, petrochemical and palm oleochemical technology. The program curriculum is designed according to the requirements of the Ministry of Higher Education, Engineering Accreditation Council and the Board of Engineers Malaysia. Upon graduation, the students will fulfill the market needs in the fields mentioned above which are important to the nation’s economic growth.
This course is open to all Bumiputera students from any institution recognized by the government who fulfill any of the requirements given below:
A pass in STPM or equivalent that is recognized by the Malaysian Government including :
i) A pass in two (2) other subjects with CGPA 2.67 from the following subjects: Mathematics
Physics/Chemistry
AND
ii) A pass in SPM or equivalent that is recognized by the Malaysian Government with a credit in Bahasa Melayu/ Malaysia and a pass in English.
OR
A pass in the Matriculation Programme from the Physical Science stream with a minimum CGPA of 2.75.
OR
A pass in the Matriculation Programme from the Biology stream with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 and a credit in Physics at SPM level.
OR
A pass in Chemical Engineering Diploma from UiTM with a minimum CGPA of 2.50.
OR
A pass in Diploma in any related field from UiTM with a minimum CGPA of 2.75.
OR
A pass in Diploma in any related field from UiTM with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and at least 2 years working experience in related field.
Process engineer involves in the design and maintenance of chemical processes in polymer /petrochemical/palm oleochemical based industries. The process engineer will also be involved in sustaining clean environment through designing innovative equipment and systems pertaining to the environment.
