The 3-year undergraduate programme at AIMST emphasizes the integration of theory with specialized practical training, ensuring a sound basis in relevant biological sciences. The main thrust of the Biotechnology programme is to give a comprehensive education in the fundamental concepts of modern biology and its application to techniques, especially relevant for future commercial exploitations.

Basic Structure
Year 1 | Students will acquire a good foundation in the critical life science courses as well as biostatistics and information technology that are tailored for biological applications. |
Year 2 | The programmes integrate genetic based courses with modern technology, and include an introduction to bioinformatics. |
Year 3 | The courses expand further into special areas in biotechnology and molecular biology, and also cover issues of bioethics and the basic of business management for biotechnology enterprises. Library and research project are also included. |
Assessment
Assessment is a combination of written examinations, mandatory industrial training and reports or presentations on project work.
