Programme Description
Academic Concept
It is a four years degree programme after successful completion of IIUM’s matriculation programme. While the emphasis of the matriculation programme is in preparing the students with SPM with Language skills (English and Arabic), it also provides them with basic foundation on environmental design fields. STPM and GCE ‘A’ Level applicants need to complete a presessional semester before entering the programme.

The department required studies consists of 120 credit hours. The studies are divided into three in which they are:

Industrial Training
Student will be required to spend one full semester during the third year working in the office of an approved private firm of quantity surveyor or the corresponding government department or the larger contracting organizations.
Entry Requirements
Admission Requirements
- 3 Principals passes in the STPM, obtained in one sitting OR
- 3 Principals passes in the CGE ‘A’ Level, obtained in one sitting OR
- Any other certificate recognised by the Senate of IIUM as equivalent to the above and Credit 4 for English in SPM
Language Requirements
English is the primary medium of instruction. All applicants should submit a score of 550 in the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or 6.0 points in the IELTS (International English Language Testing Services) or EPT ( English Placement Test). The latter is administrated by IIUM. Candidates who do not meet the above requirements may take up language proficiency courses within the university to achieve the required standard.
