Course Description

The Interface Design (ID) Programme endeavours to educate and train young designers to achieve creative and innovative solutions for ICT products, services and applications. The selected works displayed here provide a quick dissection on the kind of physical (tangible) and non-physical (intangible) interface concepts and solutions produced from the programme. User-centred approaches, Universal Design principles, usability, three-dimensional visualisation, and presentation techniques are the cornerstones of this programme.

Young designers are taught how to provide meaningful interfaces and exciting interactive solutions to enhance the user experience, to challenge the envelope of leading-edge technologies, and to improve the lifestyles of our society. This well-rounded degree programme provides young designers a wide scope of skill sets, opportunities, and fresh insights into the interface design discipline and industry. Human interaction methods, screen and display user interfaces, product visualisation, interface simulations, audio and video user interfaces, and design specifications are some of the many areas disseminated in this programme.

The works here also highlight the range of applied presentation techniques, product conceptualisation, 3D modelling, model making, product mock-up, sales pitch, and rapid prototyping. We strive to blend and cross the boundaries of form and function; of art and science. In ID, we provide young designers the opportunity to explore and to produce highly objective and creative design concepts and solutions within a well-equipped ethos of art, design and technology.

We also provide the opportunity for young designers to conduct real-life projects with industry, and to take part in international competitions and conferences throughout their studies here.

•  Pass in related foundation studies,
• Pass in related Diploma from a recognized institution, with submission of portfolio on design, computer works and complete transcripts and resume (especially for those with working experience)
