This undergraduate programme would normally require 4 years (8 semesters) to complete. It provides students with the necessary knowledge and skills to work in the media and/or public relations.
The programme is designed to produce communication scholars and professionals who are committed to spiritual, moral, intellectual and creative excellence. The programme involves an appreciation of the Western and Islamic heritage behind the current media forms and institutions. It recognizes the importance of modern techniques in effective communication.
The minimum entry requirements are according to the following tracks:
TRACK 1
A pass in the Higher School Certificate (STPM) with a CGPA of 3.00 or at least:
AND
A pass in the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) or its equivalent with at least:
TRACK 2
A Diploma or its equivalent with a CGPA of 3.00, provided that it is approved by the Malaysian Government and endorsed by the University Senate.
AND
A pass in the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) or its equivalent with at least:
TRACK 3
A pass in the relevant Centre for Foundation Studies programme with a minimum CGPA of 2.25.
TRACK 4
A pass in the Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with at least a Jayyid Jiddan grade.
AND
A pass in the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) or its equivalent with at least:
In all the tracks above, a minimum of Band 3 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) is required.
TRACK 5
A pass in overseas qualifications deemed by the Senate to be equivalent to GCSE A Level with good grades.
