Program Mission
To produce graduates who are ethical, knowledgeable in social, economic and business settings which are dynamic and global, proficient in accounting in line with the profession’s demand, competent and creative.
Program Learning Outcomes
This program is structured to produce graduates who should be able to:
- identify, classify, record, summarise and report the socioeconomic environment that influences organisations
- prepare financial statements in accordance with approved accounting standards for organisations and simple-structured entities
- provide financial and nonfinancial information in helping the management to make business and organisational decisions including setting up businesses
- interpret and evaluate both financial and nonfinancial information for decision making
- utilise and evaluate technology and information systems in achieving organisation’s objectives
- prepare tax returns and provide consultations in tax-related matters to individuals and typical business entities
- perform audits for noncomplex entities by utilising suitable technology
- think critically in applying knowledge and proposing solutions with regards to accounting issues
- integrate business and other management applications according to the core accounting competencies
- work collaboratively in a management team
- communicate effectively with various stakeholders, may it be orally or in writing
- exhibit behaviour consistent with professional etiquette and social responsibility
- display commitment in lifelong learning and professional development
- exhibit leadership and entrepreneurial skills.
