The Bachelor (Hons) in Recording Arts is designed to develop a broad range of industry-specific skills for a career in studio and live sound engineering, sound design and audio for visual media.
The course includes the fundamentals of sound engineering; the scientific principles of sound; sound systems; studio techniques; sound for visual media, TV, special effects, computer games; electronic music; sound synthesis; audio post production; live sound for events and music business.
The strong practical emphasis of the course is underpinned by a relevant amount of theoretical study. Our degree has been developed in close partnership with key industry partners, allowing for a mix of theoretical understanding and practical application.
Designed to teach elements of music production and sound engineering, from fundamental to advanced, the course focuses these skills towards the specific purpose of studio engineering and the live sound industry.
At Sound & Music Design Academy, you have access to well-equipped facilities, with professional sound recording studios, analogue and digital equipment, industry standard software and IT facilities, as well as editing and post production facilities.
Students with a recognized Diploma in related field will be given advanced standing into the Degree programme.
