Programme Description
This degree offers a design-led approach to creating interactive media with a wide coverage of subjects including websites, mobile applications, games, new social media, interactive installations as well as working with new interfaces and emerging technologies where students are taught the knowledge to thrive in the dynamic, innovative and interactive media industry.

Note:
**Students must satisfy the stipulated English requirement before pursuing the University of Hertfordshire Degree programme at The One Academy.
**Upon completion of the TOA Diploma Programme in the related field, students will be exempted to 2nd year of 3+0 UK Degree Programme. Assessments in academic writing skills and additional semester may be required to satisfy pre-requisites for Degree Studies.
Course Structure
Foundation Year
- Building skills and personal knowledge to prepare for advanced art & design programmes in Years 1-3.
- Learning to self-manage academic development.
Year One
- Development of skills and understanding of the tools and processes used to create digital images, video, animation and sound, and the making of interactive media.
- Students will analyse and discuss existing examples of interactive media that makes for effective communication. Studies will also include the fundamentals of interactive design, user experience and the key principles and practices of interactive multimedia.
Year Two
- Specialisation in particular areas of interactive multimedia and application of technical skills in larger scale group projects while developing independence.
- Studies inclusive of extending knowledge of commercial interactive design techniques, planning multimedia production, experimentation on user control and content access, interface design and developing theories.
Year Three
- Students will be prepared for working in the commercial digital media sector and undertake a major practical project and enquiry module involving the exploration of technical, cultural or theoretical issues relating to interactive design practice, including studies on grounding in multimedia project management, exploration of creative projects & employment preparation.
Internship
- Students will carry out a mandatory 12-week period of work placement with an agency or a studio within digital media industry for on the- job training & development after their completion of studies in year 3 (level 6).
