Programme Description
This programme of study is to promote the study of the production, distribution and reception of texts, of their linguistic, rhetorical and literary structures and functions, and of internal and external forces that create literature in English Language. The program aims to fulfill the needs of graduates who are interested in furthering their studies in Linguistics
The program prepares students for entrance into the profession as both teachers and scholars.
Candidates who join this programme have the option of choosing part-time or full-time status to suit their personal and work schedule.
Literature
• Comparative Literature [Asian Classics, African, Indian and Europe Literature]
• Nusantara Literature
• Literary Theory [Post-colonialism; Feminism; Post-structuralism]
Admission Requirements
Applicants should possess the following:
MA
• A Bachelor’s degree (CGPA ≥ 2.75) in related areas.
• Degree awarded by local private institutions of higher learning including those awarded under any collaborative/franchising schemes with local or foreign partners must be accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
Language Requirement
(Applicable for International Applicants Only)
• A minimum score of 550 in TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or
• A minimum score of 6.0 in IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
• Results must be attached with the application form.
