Entry Requirements

1. SPM/SPVM or equivalent with at least 5 credits inclusive of English with at least B4; and a minimum MUET Band 4 is an advantage.
2. Overview Programme Aims : The main objective of this programme is to prepare students who are interested to further their studies in the field of English language studies and education, specifically in English Language Teaching (ELT). This programme is to produce competent and proficient users of the English language in all the four skills as well as to expose them to the basic knowledge of second language learning.

1. Develops students’ ability to communicate in standard English with clarity and fluency using correct pronunciation and intonation.
2. Instills in the students to be professional and ethical in their profession.
3. Dervelops the students’ ability to write essays, reports and letters in English relating to academic or work, to present and perform confidently in public.
4. Learn the English language confidently using the latest technology, function effectively as an individual, leader and team member ,pursue life-long learning to meet global challenges as well as comprehend academic and non-academic texts written in English and respond critically.

   CEA1124	BASIC ENGLISH GRAMMAR	The aim of the course is to provide an overview of English Language usage. It seeks to review, remedy and consolidate the students’ grammatical competence. It assists learners with compensatory structural development as well as exposure to the rudiments of the English Language which will be the main premise of investigation in this course
   ZEA 1333	PUBLIC SPEAKING AND PRESENTATION SKILLS	This course exposes the students with the knowledge of preparing, delivering and evaluating speeches for different functions and purposes.
   ZEA 1163	SECOND LANGUAGE LEARNING STYLES AND STRATEGIES	This course discusses the aims and rationale of learning strategies as well as study skill employment. It also attempts to prepare students to be independent learners and take responsible for their own learning which is required in higher institution of learning.

   Expected Salary

   • Public Sector: Basic starting monthly salary is around RM2000.00; plus allowances, the total can amount to around RM2,200.
   • Private Sector: The amount of basic starting monthly salary can vary from the above amount. However, the total amount of monthly salary earned (inclusive of allowances) is subject to negotiation and which can be higher than that earned in the public sector.
