This programme is a pre-professional course that provides a recognised qualification in Architecture, and offers a pathway for further studies towards becoming an Architect.
Designed to give students design and technical skills for a career in the architecture industry, the programme combines the disciplines of art and science. It focuses on the relationship between the poetics of space, application of structure and technology, as well as the role of architecture in social, cultural and environmental sustainability. Graduates also gain a solid understanding of building design, history of architecture, construction technology and architectural practice, to contribute towards the development of our society and nation as a whole.
Professionally Accredited Graduates
- Accreditation by Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia (LAM), exempts graduates from the LAM Part 1 Professional Examination.
Design-Oriented Programme
- In-depth knowledge of design elements and emphasis on the relationship between poetics of space, via module such as Architectural Design Studios.
- Develop heightened sensitivity for the environment, culture and climate of a particular place via modules such as Architecture Culture & History and Environmental Sustainable Design.
- Students’ design studio projects are presented as part of Design Studio Review (every semester), to a panel of lecturers and industry professionals for critique and feedback.
Technical Focus
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of the application of structure, materials, technologies and systems that will impact the field of architecture, through modules such as Building Materials, Building Construction and Building Technology.
Holistic Learning Approach
- Valuable industry exposure via lecture series and external design reviews, field trips and site visits, which enhance students’ learning experience.
- Experiential learning through opportunity to participate in Activity Week, an international study trip.
- 8-week fieldwork in Year 1 requires students to document historical and architectural buildings, through a set of measured drawings and a report.
- 8-week internship in Year 2 exposes students to the real-life working environment and enables them to work within a building team.
Entry Requirements
- Taylor’s Foundation in Natural Built and Environments (FNBE): Pass with min. CGPA 2.33
- Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM): Min. CGPA 2.67 in 3 subjects
- Unified Examination Certificate (UEC): Min. 6Bs including English and Mathematics
- A Levels: Min. CDD excluding General Paper / General Studies in student’s first language
- South Australian Matriculation (SAM): Min. ATAR 70
- Canadian Pre-University (CPU): Min. average of 65% in 6 subjects
- International Baccalaureate (IB): Min. 28 points in 6 subjects
- Other Qualifications: Students with other qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis
Note:
- Pre-Condition:
- SPM or O Level, min. 5 credits in English and Mathematics and a pass in Bahasa Melayu
- Pass SABD Aptitude Assessment (AA)
- Pass Admissions Committee Screening, which may include interview

Note:Students who have completed a full year preparatory / foundation study in English may be exempted from meeting the English requirements.
