The programme provides students with the combination of theories and hands-on practice to manage an organisation’s information technology infrastructure and meet users’ needs.

Students will learn how to develop Internet applications, harness e-commerce technologies, support information retrieval, and configure networks and databases. The programme will provides students with a firm foundation in computer science, while equipping them with relevant competencies in project management, problem-solving and teamwork. Upon completion of the programme, students will be able to provide solutions for computing-related challenges faced by various organisations.

Specialised Skills in Internet Technology

• Specialised skills in design, development, application, implementation, and management of computer based information systems, with modules like Internet Fundamentals, Web Scripting and Web Database Applications.
• Knowledge of computing systems and Internet-based technologies to efficiently retrieve, store, process, share and manage data, for usage in communication and business.

• Valuable industry exposure and hands-on practices via module adoption, expert talks, guest lecturers and project based module from experts such as Google Malaysia, MIMOS and Basis Bay.

Industry Engagement

• Opportunity to work on real-world problems identified by the industry for assignments, projects or as a Final Year Project under the guidance of the industry members

Integrated Professional Certification

• Option to take-up industry professional certification such as International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) as a Certified Tester, Malaysian Software Testing Board (MSTB) as a Certified Professional in Requirements Engineering, Oracle Database SQL Expert exam as an Oracle Database SQL exam as an Oracle Database SQL Certified Expert, Google Web Academy Online Professional and SAP Professional Training, thus qualifying students sit for these exams.

Business and Management Exposure

• Exposure to business management modules through Technopreneurship, E-Commerce, Introduction to Management, Introduction to Accounting and Organisational Behavior.

Dynamic Internship Programme

• 12-week internship exposes students to the real working environment and provides in-depth knowledge in the field of computing.

• Taylor’s Foundation in Computing (FIC): Pass with min. CGPA 2.00 including credit in Mathematics at SPM
• Taylor’s Diploma in Information Technology (DIT): Pass with min. CGPA 2.50 including credit in Mathematics at SPM
• Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM): Min. CGPA 2.00 in 3 subjects including C in Mathematics
• Unified Examination Certificate (UEC): Min. 5Bs including Mathematics
• A Levels: Min. EE including Mathematics
• South Australian Matriculation (SAM): Min. ATAR 55 including C- in Mathematics
• Canadian Pre-University (CPU): Min. average of 55% in 6 subjects including 55% in Mathematics
• International Baccalaureate (IB): Min. 28 points in 6 subjects including min. 4 points in High Level (HL) Mathematics and min. 5 points in General / Business Mathematics
• Other Qualifications: Students with other qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis
