The BDS Programme consists of two preclinical and three clinical years which will be accessed through five professional examinations. Blended learning approach consist of didactic problem based learning, utilizing outcome based education with emphasis on student-centred teaching and learning. Vertical integrations of basic medical and dental subjects in Year 1 and 2 are applied in preclinical and clinical years. Professional development directed to generic competencies is incorporated in all 5 years of study. Progress test is carried out at the end of each semester / module. Upon completion of this programme, graduate will be conferred “Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)’ which will be entitled o practice General Dentistry as accordance to the Dental Act.

a. Passed STPM with at least Grade B (GPA 3.50) in three of these following
subjects :
i. Additional Mathematics / Advance Additional Mathematics
ii. Physics / Biology
iii. Chemistry
and
Obtained CGPA of not less than 3.50
and
Passed with credit in at least 5 subjects including English and Mathematics in SPM or equivalent examination.
or
b. Passed Matriculation / PASUM / ASASI UiTM with at least Grade B (GPA 3.50)
in the following subjects :
i. Chemistry
ii. Physics / Biology
iii. Mathematics
and
Obtained CGPA of not less than 3.5
and
Passed with credit in at least 5 subjects including English and Mathematics in SPM or equivalent examination.
or
c. Passed Diploma in Science / Diploma in Microbiology / Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology / Diploma in Pharmacy / Diploma in any other life sciences from UiTM with at least CGPA of 3.50
All applicants must passed MUET (Malaysian University English Test) with at least Band 3
Applicants to clinical programmes need to provide evidence to the University that they are free from Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C upon acceptance into the programme.
The programme extends over a minimum period of ten (10) semesters for full time study up to sixteen (16) semesters.
