The programme focuses on the understanding and practice of contemporary graphic communication design on a global scale.
Emphasis is placed on challenging conventional and existing boundaries of design, through exploration of visual communication principles, creative thinking and problem-solving approaches, and understanding of contemporary and historical design issues affecting the design of complex graphic communication work.
The programme is designed to provide students with knowledge of technologies, materials, processes and skills as well as insights leading to the solving of graphic design problems efficiently and practically.
Focus on Branding and Marketability
- Develop understanding of communication concepts and the ability to generate practical designs in-line with clients’ briefs, via modules such as Packaging & Merchandising Design.
- In-depth knowledge of developing visual brand identity to enhance brand strategies, marketability & sales, via modules such as Branding Corporate Identity, Branding Strategies, and Publishing I and II.
- In-depth knowledge of advertising and consumer behaviour, purchase decisions and communication challenges, via modules such as Advertising Principles & Practice.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
- Collaboration with industry partners to realise solutions that allow students to creatively engage issues of society, culture and technology, via modules such as Collaboration & Professional Associations.
- Gain valuable industry exposure and enhance learning through participation in field trips and an international study trip (Activity Week).
Holistic Approach to Graphic Design
- In-depth knowledge of design communication, cultural impact on consumerism, trends and key issues impacting design, via modules such as Design Studies I – III.
Understanding of presenting information in a functional and compelling manner, and application of design across multiple platforms, via modules such as Information Design and Entertainment Design.
Develop Own Style and Portfolio
- Develop design knowledge and expertise in a specialised area of personal interest via modules such as Personal Project I and II, and Final Project.
Dynamic Internship Programme
- 14 weeks practicum to develop practical and relevant skills for future employment.

- Taylor’s Foundation in Design (FID): Pass with min. CGPA 2.00
- Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM): CCC with min. CGPA 2.00 including Pengajian Am
- Unified Examination Certificate (UEC): Min. 5Bs
- A Levels: Min. CDD
- South Australian Matriculation (SAM): ATAR 65
- Canadian Pre-University (CPU): Min. average of 55% in 6 subjects
- International Baccalaureate (IB): Min. 24 points in 6 subjects
- Other Qualifications: Students with other qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis
