Entry Requirements
Pass SPM with credits in 3 subjects, and at least credit in of the pure science subjects (Biology/Chemistry/Physics) or credit in subject science;

Certificate from an IPTS or IPTA in related field which CGPA > 2.00;

Other related or equivalent qualification recognized by Government of Malaysia.
Overview
Environmental Health addresses all the physical, chemical and biological factors external to a person, and all the related factors impacting behaviours. It encompasses the assessment and control of those environmental factors that can potentially affect human health.
It is targeted towards preventing disease and creating health-supporting environments. This definition excludes behavior not related to environment, as well as behavior related to the social and cultural environment, and genetics’

This course will introduce students to important issues and concepts in the field of environmental health. Classes will cover varied aspects of the field, including basics of ecology, main sources of pollution and how to control it and discussion of the present environmental health issues. Regulation by government agencies on building design will be discussed in order for students to apply proper standards for building construction. The science of environmental health will be reviewed, with e special emphasis on health effects of environmental exposures. |
