Overview
The Diploma Photography Technology embraces the entire range of visual communication that gives knowledge of the application of the art and design to photography. This program offers a professional photography education with an emphasis on the conceptual, technical and aesthetic possibilities of the medium. The program combines practice, history, theory perceptions, emotions and ideas which enabling students to create their own portfolio. Photography Technology Program prepares students for careers at the high end of advertising, fashion, editorial and corporate photography for print and online publication and also underwater photography.
Photographers who are most successful would to be able to adapt, to change and stay up on the latest photography technology trends. After finishing their studies graduates may work in industry, for commercial businesses or portrait studios, or choose to be self-employed.
The programme aims to ensure our graduates will be able to inculcate positive values and attitudes, stressing on ethics and professionalism, possesses leadership quality and ethical teamwork spirit in the diverse cultures of the nation, they will be provided with an educational experience that motivates them to pursue life-long learning.

Core Course Description
| APD1223 Photography Mechanics |
| Understand the theory in photo mechanics fundamental and learns the functions of mechanical and electronic inside camera body.Through demonstrations, presentations and practical, this course will take a close look at the camera system, equipment and tips to maintain the camera. |
| APD2133 Studio Lighting |
| Basic photography will provide students with the basic skills of shooting with manual cameras and processing black and white film and prints. Class discussions will center on creative vision, photographic history, equipment, and techniques which the student will practice in the field and in the lab. |
| APD2123 Photography Color and Light |
| This course focuses on filling the knowledge, skills and competence in understanding the concept of light and color. The important part in color theory and the effectiveness of modifying effects of the resulting photographs. Understanding this need for students who are knowledgeable and creative thinking can make in solving problems and providing color photographic light. |
| APD2153 Advertising and Photo Illustration |
| To produce students who can spark ideas, applications and could become a photographer in the field of advertising photography. It also to prepare students in camera handling, studio lighting equipment, become a creative individuals, photography process and management skills. More advanced skills and knowledge will be gain by the student by completing the assignment given. Student will develop creative thinking skill in their work. |
| APD2263 Portraiture and Fashion Photography |
| This course provides the foundation for an understanding environment of portraiture and fashion in term of idea, concept and direction. Students will learn how to capture and record images that involve emotions, concept designer, style and lighting to suit the ideas are applied. |
| APD2144 Photo Lab Technique |
| This subject is to impart student practical skills and knowledge of the creative dark room work. Student will be exposed to the photographic chemical and techniques of manipulation using conventional photographic tools in the dark room. |
| APD2243 Editorial Photography and Photojournalism |
| This subject is an introduction in editorial photography and photojournalism process. It is also to improve student’s intensive credibility in their photography for news. It gives students a good understanding and knowledge about photograph that can and should be produced based requirement for the media. |
| APD2253 Process and Digital Image Manipulation |
| This subject provides the foundation and knowledge in understanding the usage of digital imaging software in digital photography workflow parallel with industrial need. This subject is to impart student practical skills and knowledge of the creative process and digital image manipulation. Student will be exposed to the software and techniques of manipulation using digital techniques. |
| APD2313 Fine Art Photography |
| This subject emphasizes on main discipline, which is fine art photography. This integration provides more options to students to generate creativity and innovation through fine arts. The theoretical aspect of this course covers the studies on media research, history, appreciation, interpretation, and aestheticism. The practical as pect focuses on the exploration of mastery medium and application of relevant techniques in the studios and field work based on photography. |
| APD2323 Special Portfolio :Ariel, Marine and Medical |
| Special Portfolio Photography:Underwater Photography will provide students with the basic skills of shooting underwater photography. Student will experience underwater world and discover the most unspoiled wildernesses above water. Scuba diving means rising to new challenge, the thrill of breathing underwater and the enjoyment-taking photograph underwater is an opportunity that can’t be missed. |
| APD2233 Creative Strategy and Implementation |
| This course is intended to expose students in understanding the process of creating a good advertising strategy and marketing concept. | APD2213 Digital Video Production |
| This course teaches the understanding and comprehension of managing the artistic and design elements of a project in video & filming. It is also an exposure and knowledge in the cinematography techniques and the digital video production. Students will also gain knowledge through the experiences of being in a team that will enhance their leadership & organizational skill. |
| APD2223 Interactive Media Publishing |
| To expose students to web design process. Students will be exposed to the process of design and programming of website. The topics will cover from the beginning process until it can be tested and use on the web. |

| This course provides the introduction and fundamental experiences toward the understanding of design house working culture and value, standard operating procedure (SOPs) and team works in actual working environment. |

APD3615 Final Project |
| This course provides the completion of their study during final year. Following approval by the lecturers of their final project proposal. Students work one-on-one with respective lecturers to attain specific conceptual and technical skills that will enable them to bring their final project to successful completion. |
