Overview
The programme aims to provide graduates with related broad-based knowledge, advanced technical, communication and entrepreneurship skills, in creativity and design innovation, visual expression and communication in art and design to contribute towards the creative industry and it also aims towards lifelong learning.
Graduates with a Diploma in Digital Graphic Design obtain basic skills on fundamental knowledge of principles and elements of art and design and photography. They will have the opportunity to explore and apply competency in the art and design industry by integrating in- depth research, conceptual development, strategic thinking and problem solving in design creation.
Through carefully planned structure of learning, the graduates will have equipped themselves with multi-disciplinary skills of graphic design, photography, advertising principles and practices, multimedia and animation for further advancement in job placements.
The programme aims to ensure our graduates will be able to inculcate positive values and attitudes, stressing on ethics and professionalism, possesses leadership quality and ethical teamwork spirit in the diverse cultures of the nation, they will be provided with an educational experience that motivates them to pursue life-long learning.

Core Course Description
AGD 1233 Graphic Communication I
This course sets out to provide a sound basis of graphic and typographic knowledge and skill for all of its students. It is structured in such a way as to provide both for the intending professional photographer and graphic designer and for those who seek to use graphic communication in other contexts. Its staff value both images and text. Consequently, the course places equal emphasis on mark making. Image management and typography in all their forms, and in both traditional and technological methods of execution.
AGD1243 Photography I
Basic photography will provide students with the basic skills of shooting with manual cameras and processing black and white film and prints. Class discussions will center on creative vision, photographic history, equipment, and techniques, which the student will practice in the field and in the lab.
AGD 2323 Typography I
This course is an introductory course into Typography. Students learn the basics of typography such as the history, terminology and how to identify and use typography effectively to communicate a message or meaning.
AGD 2333 Photography II
This course provides basic knowledge about the basic skills of photography, especially in digital medium and studio lighting fixtures operate with exposure control and the right balance of light including basic darkroom techniques
AGD 2343 Graphic Communication II
This subject is a continuation of the subject Graphic Communication 1. It is essential requirements to expose students communicate with various way of communication in graphic design industry. It helps the students learn how to process visual techniques and transmit it into effective visual message. Based on this knowledge, students will be able to convey the information creatively in graphic design industry.
AGD 2353 Illustration I
To develop the ability for plan and execute a self –negotiated program of study; the maturity in design decisions making in consideration of the duration; to display a deeper understanding of illustration; the ability to finish work to a high presentation standard. To develop competent research and analytical skill.
AGD 2413 Digital Imaging & 2D Animation
The understanding of 2D Animation and the basic usage of the application Adobe Flash.
AGD 2423 Typography II
This course is a continuation of Basic Typography. The students will use the basics in typography and apply it in the layout design of print based and screen based design.
AGD 2433 Illustration II – Digital
The understanding of digital illustrations and further understanding the use of Adobe Illustrator.
AGD 3523 Electronic Publication
This is an in-depth course to the students on how to use Adobe InDesign and the differences from other applications in providing a magazine or desktop publishing. Students are able to handle applications in developing a website Macromedia Dreamweaver.
POD 3123 Entrepreneurship
This course examines the role of finance in supporting the functional areas of a firm, and fosters an understanding of how financial decisions themselves can create value. Students will gain: An understanding of the concepts and language of accounting so it can be used as an effective tool for communication, monitoring, and resource allocation. Familiarity with how modern accounting and control theory is used in evaluating economic conditions and making organizational decisions.
AGD 2312 Copywriting (Advertising)
This course provides a survey of advertising principles from conception through production and places emphasis on creating an advertising idea for a product. Students learn how to develop and present their ideas from thumbnail to finish as well as executing ideas and advertising messages through masterful art direction and effective copywriting.
AGD 2444 Corporate Identity
Corporate Identity is a vital subject in graphic design learning. Its aim is to expose student with knowledge and creative rationale of graphic design images/colors in building corporate identity of organizations.
AGD 3513 Reproduction – Graphic Design
This course provides understanding of all stages of the print production process starting from design process and print process. Learning this program will help student to gain their skill and confidence when sending a job to print.
AGD 3533 Advertising & Art Direction
This course provides a survey of advertising principles from conception through production and places emphasis on creating an advertising idea for a product. Students learn how to develop and present their ideas from thumbnail to finish as well as executing ideas and advertising messages through masterful art direction and effective copywriting.
AGD 3544 Film Graphics & 3D
This course covers the understanding and comprehension of 3D animation and design to its contribution of 3D animation production, compositing and understanding of the digital media and graphics of 3D animation in video and film production. It will be a course structure to learn about 3D animation production and film production from pre-production, production and post production, both live and animated.
AGD 3554 Practical Training
This course provides the introduction and fundamental experiences toward the understanding of design house working culture and value, standard operating procedure (SOPs) and team works in actual working environment.
AGD 3615 Final Project
Here students will involve themselves in a professional manner in carrying out the work as their final folio. This will put students in a par with the others who a new to the field. Given the diversity of their specialization in graphic, the students encouraged demonstrating their proficiency through the work they create as the basis of specific subjects that have been studied and this may lead them to compete in the future later. Students are given the opportunity to choose the headline in the making of paper work and also works of graphic design that will be created.
