Dhaka University (DU) and the AIMST University of Malaysia will start joint collaborative research programmes, including mutual exchange of students, researchers and faculty-members soon. An official familiar to the process has said that a memorandum of understanding (MoU) will be signed between the two respective universities very soon in this respect. The official said the decision was taken at a meeting when Dr Kazi Selim Anwar, Professor of the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Medicine, AIMST University, Kedah, Malaysia called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique at the latter’s office at DU campus. Dr Altaf Hussain, Professor of Chemistry and Director of the Center for Advanced Research in Sciences (CARS) of DU was present during the meeting, according to BSS.
