Programme Structure
This is a full-time program that is recognized by the Public Service Department (JPA). The duration of the study is four years. It is design to fulfill the requirement set by the Ministry of Education for pre-service teacher who will become Visual Art Education teachers in the Malaysian secondary schools and related institutions.The courses offered are categorized into four areas:
the theories and practices in art and design education.
integrated studio experiences in varieties of media.
real classroom teaching experiences
community services, involvements and observations.
STUDIO EXPERIENCES
The major components of this program prepares students for in-depth studio experiences through various form and media techniques. Latest digital technologies will be included in order to develop the potential of each individual students as well as to provide the necessary skills required by the profession. Our efforts in the advancement of Visual Art Education are enhanced to the integrative approach of the theories and practice.
NEW MEDIA & DESIGN
The New Media & Design is offered by the component to students in this as well as other programs in the faculty. It provides the students with basic artistic and technical skills required to today’s new media technologies. Students will understand and acquire the skills in multimedia & on-line technology by finding solution to technical and visual problem as well as through collaborative design projects. Students will develop their creative enterprises through Malaysian Traditional & New Dimension Craft and digital & New Media Technology.

Entry Requirements
STPM with 3 principal passes including Kertas Am or Pengajian Am and ‘Seni Visual’ and a subsidiary pass in one (1) other subject with CGPA 3.00
OR Has undergone in specialist course in Art Education organizes by the Ministry of Education (Teacher Training Colleges)
OR SPM/SPMV pass including ‘Seni Visual’ with at least seven (7) years of teaching experience in Art Education (Pendidikan Seni or Pendidikan Seni Visual)
OR Diploma related with ‘Seni Visual’ from UiTM or other university that is recognized by the Malaysian Government with a minimum C.G.P.A. or 2.50
AND MUET (minim Band 2)
AND Pass the MEDSI (Malaysian Educators Selection Inventory) written test, physical test, and interview which are prepared by the Ministry of Higher Education.
