Audiologists are professionals who work to evaluate, diagnose and manage a diverse range of conditions related to hearing and balance disorders in paediatric and adult population. UKM has been a pioneer in offering the four-year bachelor degree in audiology in the South East Asia region since 1995. The program is accredited by the Malaysian Accreditation Board and meets international standards required to practice as an audiologist.
Throughout the 4-year study, students will acquire adequate foundation knowledge, clinical skills and research experience sufficient for a beginning practitioner working in a variety of health care settings. They undergo clinical practicum in regional hospitals, health care, educational and community institutions under close supervision from qualified audiologists. They also conduct research projects and present their findings in a thesis in the final year of study. Graduates from this program have successful careers in local and international health, educational and industrial institutions.
