The Master of Library and Information Science program is designd to produce graduates with a thorough knowledge of theory and practise in library and information science, and who are able to work in a number of information environments
PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

Revised Programme Structure for Master of Library and Information Science
The Master of Library and Information Science Programme through coursework and dissertation shall have a total of fifty-six (56) credits. The details are as shown below.
Through Coursework & Dissertation Mode
The programme shall consists of two parts:
Part I comprises:
Candidates may be imposed to enroll in other courses and obtain satisfactory results deemed necessary by the Faculty.
Part II shall consist of fourty (40) credits and shall involve research leading to the submission of a dissertation.
Through Dissertation Mode
This programme shall consist of one hundred percent (100 %) research work leading to thesubmission of a dissertation.
Candidates may be imposed to enroll in other courses and obtain satisfactory results deemed necessary by the Faculty.
Currently, candidates are only required to take a Research Foundations course during their first semester of enrolment.

DURATION OF PROGRAMME
For Coursework & Dissertation Mode
The programme of study extends over a minimum period of three (3) regular semesters. While the maximum period is eight (8) semesters.
For Dessertation Mode
The minimum time period for the Master of Library and Information Science degree is two (2) semesters. While the maximum period is eight (8) semesters.
APPLICATION PROCEDURES
