Academic Reading is a supporting, English proficiency-cum-reading course designed to help degree students with their English to help them cope with their reading of academic texts.
At the end of the course, the students will have acquired the following:
Each week there is a class of three hours. The course is organised around academic readings and vocabulary and reading strategy tasks.
The teacher works on expanding the students’ vocabulary, improving their understanding of concepts and their use of grammar to understand texts. There is a final read-and-respond examination to assess how much the students have learnt.
