English Proficiency is a supporting English course designed to improve the English of the students to enable them to cope with their Foundation studies.
At the end of the course, students will have acquired the following:
Each week there is a class of five hours. The course is organised around pronunciation activities, vocabulary building tasks, academic writing tasks, and remedial grammar.
The teacher works on expanding the students’ active vocabulary, improving their grasp of grammar, raising their ability to write about ideas and concepts in their own words, and improving textual coherence and cohesion in their written work. There is a final examination to assess how much the students have learnt.
