Equivalent to Year 12 of education in Australia (Form 6 in Malaysia), the South Australian Matriculation programme is a one-year prerequisite qualification for entry into university. It is administered by the SACE Board of South Australia, an independent, statutory authority of the South Australian Government that is responsible for curriculum development and accreditation, assessment, reporting and certification for the final years of secondary education.
It is currently the most popular Australian-based Pre-university programme in Malaysia. The benefits of this programme:
The South Australian Matriculation programme is internationally recognized. You will be able to study locally and be accredited with the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) upon successful completion. This award is recognised within the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and opens doors to top universities in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the United States of America and Asia.
You will obtain an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank, ATAR. It is a percentile ranking that is utilised as a selection criterion for degree programmes by universities worldwide.
Assessment of individual subjects in the South Australian Matriculation programme consists of 2 components:
The school assessment component encourages independent learning and hones study skills for university. Assessment tasks including projects, assignments and laboratory work are assigned yearlong; and marks are submitted to the SACE Board to be moderated during the public examinations. Public examinations are provided by the SACE Board, and developed by examination panels that include secondary school and university representatives. The examination papers are marked in Australia, maintaining the high standard.

Different subject combinations are available to provide you with the right entry requirements for your university studies. You are required to register for 5 subjects from ONE of the following combinations:

Engineering
Actuarial Studies
Information Technology Studies, Quantity Surveying
Accounting, Finance, Economics
Law, Mass Communication, Social Sciences, Psychology
Students who do not take English as Second Language Studies are recommended to sit for the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) examination to fulfil the English Language requirement for certain universities. IELTS preparatory classes are available with additional cost.
