The Master of Science degree in Analytical and Pharmaceutical Chemistry is suitable for graduates with a degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy or related disciplines and is targeted at recent graduates or those in current employment within the pharmaceutical or chemical related industries. The course provides graduates with the opportunity to sharpen, extend, and increase their existing knowledge and understanding in the areas of drug discovery, drug design, drug development, pharmaceutical microbiology, product commercialisation,the biotechnology market, current trends in pharmaceutical technology, advanced analytical chemistry, separation techniques, research methodology, writing skills, green chemistry, quality management, natural products and the regulatory environment.

To be eligible to apply into the IMU programme, students must have an acceptable pre-University qualification or a good science degree. In addition to academic ability, the IMU looks for excellence in co-curricular activities and good communication skills.

Admission as a candidate for the degree of MSc. Applicants are required to have obtained:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy or related sciences with a CGPA of 2.5 or
Bachelor’s degree with a CGPA of above 2.0 but below 2.5 with at least three years working experience in the pharmaceutical or chemical related industries
