Programme Description

The two programmes are Master of Science in Nursing Sciences, developed in collaboration with Northumbria University, UK, and Master of Science in Advanced Healthcare (International), developed in collaboration with Liverpool John Moores University, UK.

Both have been approved by the Nursing Board of Malaysia, and the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia, while Malaysia Qualifying Agency MQA has issued a preliminary approval. It is a distance learning, Part time and achievable in duration of minimum of 24 months.

The delivery mode, coupled with affordable fees, flexible timetable and virtual libraries, allow more and more healthcare professionals to opt for further education. These programmes are unique in that they are student friendly. Classes are conducted from Thursday until Sunday. So students only need to apply for two days leave to attend classes. There are only four semesters (two semesters a year) in the programme, and face-to-face contact is only eight days per semester. Teaching is done by both local and international lecturers, and supported by local supervisors, who are all experts in their fields.

MSc in Nursing Sciences are for nurses who already possess a Second Class (Hons) bachelor of Health Science degree or equivalent, have English language proficiency. The programme also runs over two years leading to the award of MSc in Nursing Sciences by Northumbria University, UK.

Entry Requirements

• Second Class (Hons) Bachelor Degree or higher related to nursing.
• Candidates with general degrees or non-degree level professional qualifications will be considered on the basis of equivalence to the normal requirement. Experience in a relevant professional field may be considered for entry.
• For candidates whose first language is not English, they must demonstrate a sufficient level of competence in English (TOEFL 6.5 or higher).
