About the Programme

Offered by the Department of Information Systems in Faculty of Science and Technology, the MSc (IS) program at Sunway University is among the premier postgraduate level information systems degree programs in Malaysia. This program is strategically positioned to enable students to undertake Information Systems research that is theoretically and methodologically rigorous yet practical enough to be incorporated into the daily lives of information technology managers and users. It is specially tailored to those wishing to enhance their knowledge and skills in the field of Information Systems and for career development in research-based organisations. Candidates may opt to pursue this programme either on a full-time or a part-time basis, allowing the flexibility of combining work and study.

Currently, it has two research foci: the individual and technology; and management of technology in organizations. Researchers with interest in the first area of focus engage in projects that seek to understand how individuals react to the ever-changing technologies of today, while researchers who are interested in the second area seek to understand how to manage information technology functions so as to help organizations achieve competitive advantage.
