The Master of Orthodonthics programme offered is a clinical coursework programme in which the research component comprises less than thirty (30) percent of the whole programme of study.
Entry Requirements
Qualification for Admission:
A candidate must obtain:
Bachelor of Dental Surgery from University of Malaya or other recognised university.
At least TWO (2) years of post registration clinical experience
Language Requirement : English
Foreign candidates are required to:
Have at least IELTS Band 6 or TOEFL 550 if their first degree is from a university where English is not the medium of instruction.
Or
Pass an English proficiency test approved by the University.
Other Requirement:
Passed the assessment for admission which has been decided by the Faculty.
Programme Structure
(a) This programme shall consist of two parts: – Part I comprising instruction in Basic Medical Science subjects over a
period of six (6) months.
(b) Part II over a period of thirty (42) months comprising of:
(i) General Dentistry
(ii) Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Research
Methodology and Biostatistics
(iii) Teaching, training and coursework in Orthodontics speciality;
and
(iv) Research component in the specialty option leading to the
submission of a research report.
