Obstetrics and gynaecology is a diverse discipline encompassing fertility, prenatal conditions and care, labour and delivery, postpartum care as well as gynecology and gynecologic oncology. In short, obstetrics and gynaecology is a women’s health and reproductive health expert.
This provides students with all the medical, surgical and obstetric knowledge and skills needed to prevent, identify and treat a whole range of medical conditions affecting women’s reproductive system and gynaecological health. Besides providing clinical care using both normal and complex obstetric-gynaecology approaches, experts in this field can greatly contribute to the research and growth of this discipline.
Entry Requirements
General requirements
Degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Malaya or an equivalent medical qualification approved by the Senate;
And
At least one year of post-registration clinical experience approved by the Senate.
Other requirements
Qualifies for registration as a medical practitioner under the Medical Act 1971 (Act 50) of Malaysia;
And
Satisfactorily passed the Entrance Qualifying Examination conducted by the Conjoint Board of O&G Malaysia that is held twice a year (May and November) or to ask for an exemption if you have passed Part 1 MRCOG /MRACOG.

Foreign candidates are required to:
Have at least IELTS Band 6 or TOEFL 550 if their first degree is from a university where English is not the medium of instruction.
Or
Pass an English proficiency test approved by the University.
Programme Structure
This Master’s programme, offered by the Faculty of Medicine, requires candidates to fulfill both coursework as outlined by the department, and clinical duties as assigned. Successful completion of the programme is also subject to the standards set by the Faculty.
