Programme Description
Islamic Studies research programme is designed to give students a foundation in Islamic Studies through the study of Usuluddin, Syari’ah, and Islamic thought.
The concentration in Islamic Studies is flexible and may be configured according to the student’s interests and professional goals.
Candidates who join this programme have the option of choosing part-time or full-time status to suit their personal and work schedule.

• Da’wah; [Quranic and Hadith Studies]
• Syari’ah [Islamic Legal Theory; Comparative Jurisprudence; Islamic Traditional Jurisprudence
• Administration of Islamic Law in Malaysia
• Islamic Thought [Modern Islamic Thought, Classical Islamic Thought]

Admission Requirements
Applicants should possess the following:
MA
• A Bachelor’s degree (CGPA ≥ 2.75/4) in related areas.
• Degree awarded by local private institutions of higher learning including those awarded under any collaborative/franchising schemes with local or international partners must be accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
Language Requirement
(Applicable for International Applicants Only)
• A minimum score of 550 in Paper- based TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language); or
• A minimum score of 213 in Computer-based TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) ; or
• A minimum score of 80 in Internet-based TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) ; or
• A minimum score of 6.0 in IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
• Results must be attached with the application form.

MA
• Full-time: Min 2 semesters / Max 6 semesters
• Part-time: Min 4 semesters / Max 12 semesters
