Foundation, A-Level or STPM ?
- STPM
Assessment is based on a single examination which covers syllabus taught over 24 months of study. This one exam determines your future tertiary education. If you fail, you have to wait 12 months to resit. The only reason one would do STPM is to gain entry into local public universities or fail to get the course you desired to do?
- A-Level
Like STPM, A-Levels assessment is also based upon a single examination. Failure to pass would also mean waiting for about another year to resit. However, the advantage of A-Levels over a STPM is that the duration of the course is shorter i.e. approx 18 months.
- Foundation
Our foundation programme is only of 12 months duration. Students are assessed on a continuous basis through assignments, tests, quizzes and an examinations just like in a university degree programme. The final examination constitutes only 60% of the total marks. Hence students are better prepared to face university studies in the future as the foundation mirrors what you would encounter at university. You also have the advantage of re-sitting for failed exams within the same semester. This helps you to progress faster into degree programmes.
