Programme Description
Malaysian Institute of Pharmaceuticals and Nutraceuticals (IPharm) offers postgraduate programme by research in Healthcare Biotechnology. Healthcare Biotechnology serves as pivotal role in the realization of the Malaysian National Biotechnology Policy. IPharm aims to develop new pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals with commercialisation potential by:
- Identifying niche areas in pharmaceutical and nutraceutical biotechnology by exploiting readily available natural resources in Malaysia.
- Ensuring regulatory compliance in pharmaceutical and nutraceutical biotechnology R&D.
- Sustaining prioritized R&D activities and adapt to the latest technology in drug discovery and development research area.

Admission Requirements
Applicants should possess the following:
PhD
- A Master’s or Bachelor’s (First Class Honours or CGPA>3.67/4) degree in a related area.
- Master’s degree (non-research mode) with a minimum CGPA of 3.00/4 or equivalent.
Language Requirement
(Applicable for International Applicants Only)
- A minimum score of 550 (Paper-based) in TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language); or
- A minimum score of 213 (Computer-based) in TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language); or
- A minimum score of 80 (Internet-based) in TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language); or
- A minimum score of 6.0 in IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
- Results must be attached with the application form.
Duration
PhD
- Full-time: Min 4 semesters / Max 10 semesters
- Part-time: Min 6 semesters / Max 15 semesters
