Programme Description
The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)in fine arts by research at the School of the Arts train students to produce thesis and dissertation that challenge the established aesthetic, formal and conceptual principles in art history and criticism. Our degree is recognised internationally and therefore equips our graduates for global employment in the field of art history and criticism.

Admission Requirements
Applicants should possess one of the following:
PhD
- A Master’s or Bachelor’s (First Class Honours or CGPA >3.67/4) degree in related areas.
Language Requirement
(Applicable for International Applicants Only)
- A minimum score of 550 in Paper- based TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language); or
- A minimum score of 213 in Computer-based TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) ; or
- A minimum score of 80 in Internet-based TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) ; or
- A minimum score of 6.0 in IELTS (International English Language Testing System); or
- Results must be attached with the application form.
Duration
PhD
- Full-time: Min 4 semesters / Max 10 semesters
- Part-time: Min 6 semesters / Max 15 semesters
