Programme Description
The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Business Administration prepares candidates to acquire knowledge and skills necessary to function at the highest academic and professional levels. Exposure in the areas of management will be in-depth, whereby graduates will focus on a specialised area and will work to further develop their conceptual and intellectual knowledge and methodological tools necessary to design and conduct independent research.
Duration of Study
Full time : 3 – 5 years
Part time : 4 – 6 years
Entry Requirements
- A Master degree in Business Administration or related fields;
- Satisfactory verbal proficiency in English;
- For local candidates, they are required to have credit in English Language paper at SPM level or equivalent and have obtained at least BAND 3 at MUET;
- For international candidates, they need to have at least 550 in TOEFL or band 6.0 in IELTS
Key Features
- Every PhD student in Business Administration is required to write a thesis as a requirement for the award of the doctoral degree. This is an academic research whereby a student has to complete a thesis in the specific area selected
- Students will be supervised by a Supervisory Committee (in related field) led by a Chairman with two other joint supervisors as determined by IUKL
- A student has to write and complete a thesis between 80,000 words and 120,000 words (double-spaced). Thesis evaluation will be done by two external examiners and one internal examiner
