The Microelectronics with Automatic Control programme covers a wide range of topics in computer, electronics, input/output (I/O) programming, embedded systems and networking for automation and control industries. The programme aims to produce graduates with strong analytical and logical thinking skills as well as good hands-on skills. The Microelectronics with Automatic Control programme offered in the Microelectronics and Physics Division is well facilitated with a wide range of software, hardware and networking equipment to enhance students’ learning. The Diploma in Science programme covers computer hardware and peripherals, microprocessor systems and firmware programming, PC I/O programming and PLC programming for control and automation, computer networking and data communications. Students are exposed to the fundamental knowledge and skills in networking through Cisco’s Netacad (CCNA) programme.

The Diploma in Science programme prepares graduates for employment in most areas of electronic industries, particularly in the usage of computers in data acquisition and control. Graduates could easily seek jobs as electronic, computer, network, instrumentation, control and automation technicians, assistant engineers or technical support staff.
