The Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management programme offered at KBU is comprehensively designed to prepare students for a career in hospitality, which is today’s fastest growing industry.
The programme which equips students with knowledge and skills necessary for careers in the field of hospitality and tourism management guarantees a wide choice of job opportunities in hotel management and marketing, food and beverage, travel and tourism, event management and other related sectors.
With KBU’s recent collaboration with Hotel and Tourism Management Institute Switzerland (HTMi) students who have successfully completed their 2-year course in hospitality and tourism management will be awarded two diplomas:
One from KBU known as Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management, and
One from HTMi known as Diploma in International Hotel and Tourism Management (upon completion of coursework set and assessed by HTMi)
The Diplomas can also be articulated into the final year of HTMi’s Bachelor of Arts Degree in Hotel Events Management which is made up of academic studies and a period of paid internship in Switzerland.
Graduates may also be admitted on advanced standing into year 2 of the following degree programmes:
Duration: 2 years at KBU (Diploma at KBU)
Entry Requirements: At least 3 credits in SPM, GCE ‘O’ Level, UEC with 3 credits or equivalent qualifications

*All Malaysian students are required to take 3 MQA Compulsory Subjects that include Bahasa Kebangsaan, Malaysian Studies, and Islamic Studies (for Muslims) or Moral Education (for non-Muslims). Malaysian students are required by MQA to pass all these 3 subjects to qualify for their awards. MQA Compulsory Subjects are optional for all International Students.
