Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering equips students with a comprehensive coverage of electrical and electronics theory and practice. It is designed to give a broad understanding of the electronics industry whilst allowing student to develop his or her own specialist skills during the second year.

The programme focuses on six broad areas: business management techniques, analytical methods for engineers, engineering science, engineering design, project and electrical and electronic principles. This programme prepares students for a choice of careers as Technician Engineers in areas such as computer systems development, industrial electronics, communications engineering and electronic design and development or may alternatively opt to further study for a degree.

Students are actively encouraged to participate in work experience during the course and this usually involves a work-based project. Using the ‘hands-on’ approach, this programme has good employment prospect within and outside Malaysia.

Entry Requirements

Any one of the following qualifications:

  • Pass SPM / SPMV / GCE ‘O’ Level or its equivalent with at least credits in THREE (3) subjects, including Mathematics and ONE (1) relevant Science / Technical / Vocational subject AND pass in English;
  • Pass SMIII (UEC) with 3Bs including Mathematics and 1 Science Subject;
  • Pass relevant Certificate in Engineering from Polytechnics, Institusi Kemahiran MARA (IKM) or other PHEI with CGPA ≥ 2.00*;
  • Pass relevant Certificate programme in Engineering from PHEI with Standard Minimum certified*;
  • Recognised related Vocational and Technical / Skills Certificate or its equivalent with ONE (1) year of relevant work experience or a minimum of ONE (1) semester of a bridging programme*;
  • Other equivalent qualifications recognised by Malaysian Government*;
  • Other equivalent foreign qualifications recognised by Malaysian Government*;

English Language Requirements

(For International Students)
All international students from a country in which English is not used as the medium of instruction in formal education are required to meet the following English language requirements:

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): minimum score of 550 (PBT) or 213 (CBT) or 79 – 80 (iBT)
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS): minimum overall Band 6.
  • Malaysian University English Test (MUET) : minimum Band 6.

The test must be taken no more than two years before the start of your studies at Legenda.
