The demand for patisserie chefs is ever increasing in the tourism and hospitality industry. They are needed in restaurants, hotels, airlines, food manufacturing, fast-food chains, bakeries or home based industries. Budding chefs who wish to be professionally trained should take advantage of our Diploma in Baking Arts. FIC is one of the earliest baking schools in Malaysia.
Flamingo International College provides the foundation for students wishing to be trained as a professional patisserie chef together with the complimentary management know-how. Students will acquire hands-on practical skills in baking cakes and pastry making in our air-conditioned bakery. Subjects taught include nutrition, sanitation, costing, business and theories of baking and pastries. Apart from academics and practical, students are also required to improve proficiency in English language and workplace soft-skills.
On completion of the 2 years course students are then interned with established bakeries in hotels or reputable bakery chains for a 4 months training. Students get to experience real working environment to better prepare them for their debut in the Industry.
Minimum THREE (3) Credits; in SPM, Senior Middle 3, O-Levels or its equivalent.
